Living with Dyspraxia
SOCIAL
Whether as a child or adult, Dyspraxia has both a physical and an emotional component.
Behaviour problems
This is especially evident in children. It is a result of their frustration with their symptoms.
Low self-esteem
Amongst both children and adults, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression are commonly reported as they come to terms with their symptoms and the effect it has on their daily life.
Difficulty making friends
Children may avoid taking part in sports where many social connections are made. They may also be bullied for being “clumsy” or “different”. This may cause children to grown into self-conscious adults who are more reluctant to put themselves in social situations.
